As you may be able to tell from the collection, I'm focusing on used crown caps. "Used" caps are ideally in the best condition possible, not found in the dirt or bent and mangled by a bottle opener.

I'm not collecting plastic bottle caps, or the taller variety found on many fruit juices or bottled waters. I'm also not collecting factory (unused) bottle caps or vintage, cork-lined ones right now, more because I'm trying to build the collection in a systematic way to ensure I don't get ahead of myself.

Right now, my primary goal is to acquire as many domestically available bottle caps at whatever nearby retail outlets. I'm also gathering donations for eventual trades. The next step is to start trading bottle caps and ordering select, domestic beverages via mail order.

My long term goal is to get up to 1,000 bottle caps by the end of 2006.
