I've actually bought many beverages in order to get caps, resulting in an interesting, varied tasting experience. Some drinks good, others bad, some I really liked, and most I'll likely never buy again.
I'm planning to add all of the bottle cap images first, followed with blurbs (semi-reviews) on each drink, including information about where I got each bottle cap and some anecdotes about the experience (where appropriate).
I live in the Bay Area (California, USA) and several stores have proved particularly fruitful in terms of beverage variety and price: Mollie Stone's, Whole Foods, and Beverages and More. For unique, one of a kind beverages, there's Yum and a few exotics at Fog City News. I've started branching out to ethnic groceries... there's sometimes a few treasures.
Another strategy I've used is to do research on specific brands and figure out which bottle caps are available. Most brands have only one bottle cap design for their product range, but several have a different cap for each flavor, such as Boylan's, Thomas Kemper, Full Sail, Fentiman's, and Sprechers.
